FLOODS IN BIHAR A REALITY CHECK......

YA...government gave rs.1000 crores of relief fund to bihar ,to cope with the situation which arised due to floods. Also many state governments gave immpressive relief funds..to bihar govt and thats it.Government has played its part.No one is bothered about what is the actual situation in bihar .Are the funds reaching the flood victims or not Government and any political party is least bothered about..coz they have many other "tasks "to finish..left has to continually pull UPA's leg on nuke deal..in SINGUR the NANO row,and in maharastra Raj thakrey and JAYA BACCHAN have their own ego problems..IF news channel's toll is to be believed OVER 25 LAKH population is affected due to the floods, which is much much more than what it was in TSUNAMI..but why BIHAR this particular state always left in lurch by everyone..With this so called "ghotala state"can any thing ever go right ..and will any government or political party pay any heed.I am really looking forward when will INDIA together handle any disaster.

Nationalism VS Separatism

I have been hearing about pan- islamic movements and redefining borders for Jammu and Kashmir for the past few days.Indians all over the country started commenting on Amarnath Land dispute.. i.e "Central govt is dividing hindus and muslims "."If india calls itself democratic it should give independence to J&K"."Govt need to find a solution for J&K as it found for Punjab"."BJP is responsible for spread for communalism across the nation and many more.............."discussions have reached to this extent that talks are rift about giving 'azadi' to J&K.It has taken a dirty rather senseless turn , according to me the question should be why should J&K be given independence for what sake.even discussing this matter is sham ...because indian army for the past so many years has sacrifised everything for protecting J&K .Does J&K has anything which will give it recognition as a country..If the topic of 'giving azadi to J&K' starts it will never end and will also cause bloodshed ..

Beijing Olympics ..lucky for indians..

SUSHIL KUMAR

VIJENDER KUMAR

ABHINAV BINDRA

Well how proud it feels when we take a glance at the medals tally of Beijing Olympics 2008.A gold and two bronze medals in this olympics will surely grab the attention of whole world, because of the single reason that for the first time india won three medals and proved its mettle in 3 distinct sports and is at 50th rank in over all medals tally.

Riffle shooter Abhinav bindra's victory in the 10m event won India its first ever individual gold medal.Wrestler sushil kumar and boxer Vijender kumar also won hearts of millions with their winning of bronze medals.

Indian medallist

over all medal standings
These medals are also very special because they are won after much toil..It was strange when i heard from wrestler sushil kumar and his coach that they dint have a "massage wala " with them, who could give proper massage to sushil kumar so that he could perform after every 2 hrs for the wresling. But coach himself did that for sushil.I fail to understand even at a global platform like this how can indian olympics federation could not make sure about these kind of necessary requirements for its sports persons.

EMPOWERMENT

President Abdul Kalam has a vision 2020 for India as developed country, at the same time the head lines of daily newspapers scream about the dowry evil, family bondages on women, educational denial, gender bias, women safety, female maternal mortality. Are we heading towards a women empowered country? Definitely not. Despite our father of nation, Mahatma Gandhi's belief that there is immense untapped power in Indian women. It is accepted by all what Tagore said about women that there is a woman at the begining of all great things and women are wiser than men because they no less and understand more.

Inspite of contribution towards modern India, which led to reintegration of social relationships and creation of new codes of laws, still a section of masculine gender is not ready to accept the women empowerment and their efficacy and concept of equity and equality has still not seeped in.

From my point of view, mind of a girl child is a hot bed of emotions. But this is not going to account for anything. So she shouldn't wait for heaven to come to her. She should make efforts to steer her mind towards a state of confidence and happiness by sharing little things she has. Every single lamp can lighten up a completely dark area. By perseverence the snail reached the ark, is a famous Christian quote. It's high time to rediscover ourselves and to make best use of available resources and a peak against the wrong, because it is going to decide our destiny. Our level of persistence needs to be high so that it doesn't allow our enthusisasm to be dampened by the discouragement that must inevitably come while pursuing the goal.

It's good on the part of our Government that is giving rebates on various things for women. Everyone accepts that these days media has emerged as a major source of power. It has been an effective source to voice the problems of everyone. But inspite of all these things, on practicality it calls for a lot. The major contribution is to be from women to empower herself, her interference into matters is going to pay her for ever.

What August means to INDIA

August is the most important month in Indian calender of events. It was in August 1765 that Emperor Shah Alam granted the Dewani of several states to the East India Co,pany, thereby laying the foundation for the British Empire.

In August 1858, the British Government took over administration from the hands of the company. The Government's representative in India was given the title of Viceroy.

Sri Aurobindo's series of articles in Indu Prakash in August 1893 signalled a radical change in the congress's policy ultimately making the paper the hereald of independance Bande Mataram, the great nationalist newspaper, was born in August 1906. The British Government made what is famous as the "August Offer" on August 8, 1940 to enable India "to make the fullest possible contribution to worlld struggle against tyranny and aggression."

On August 9, Gandhiji gave the historic call "QUIT INDIA" to the British and "Do or Die" to the Indians but British representation followed.

August is memorable to all Indians because our country became independant at midnight of August 14,1947. The speech made by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru still rings in our earls." At the stroke of the midnight hour, when the world sleeps, India will awake to life and freedom."

On August 7, 1906, a tricolour flag was hoisted in Calcutta on the occasion of the boycot day. People were protesting the partition of Bengal. On August 22, 1907, Bhikkaji Cama told the participants of an International Forum:" I call upon you, gentlemen, to rise and salute this flag of Indian Independance."

On August 22, 1604, the hold book of Sikhs, Adigrandh Saheb was installed in the Golden temple in Amritsar. On August 4, 1967 the world's largest and tallest masonry dam, Nagarjuna Sagar was commissioned in Andhra Pradesh.

CBI the supremo....

For the past few years we have been seeing and listening about noida nithari case,, CBI probing into Mayawati's property ..yet no solid solution or report on that ..., ,,,Aarushi murder case and now politicians(during the trust vote session inparliament) blaming CBI of conducting false raids on them....because of the pressure put upon by govt...well all this obviously puts a question mark on CBI's integrity...in midst of all this...i mean all of these cases are so called "high profile cases"...but when these cases are not answered or investigated with utmost responsibility and sincerity what can a common man expect from the govt or the country's jurisdiction....
